We are an Ofsted graded ‘outstanding’ community-run setting. We offer fun, creative and stimulating early years education and care for children aged 2 years 8 months - 5 years.

We are open Monday-Wednesday 9am-3pm and Thursday 9am-1pm. 

Our Ethos

We give children opportunities to follow their fascinations and discover their capabilities, by planning our learning journey with them. Activities are designed around children’s individual needs and support their transition to school life. For children to have the confidence to explore and grow, they need to feel secure and know that their voice matters.

Forest School Thursdays are one of the most special elements of our preschool. While outdoor learning is an important part of every day at Freshford Preschool, Forest School brings an additional dimension.

As a community-run preschool, the support of parents is also a crucial part of our success. We value and encourage parents/carers to play an active role in their child’s time at Freshford Preschool.

The Early Years

The Early Years Foundation Stage identifies seven areas of learning that support children’s development from birth to aged five, ultimately ensuring they are well-prepared for their transition to primary school.
